After the surprise operation carried out by the Palestinian resistance on 7 October 2023 against the Israeli occupation state, which revealed a major security and strategic failure, and showed the inability of Israel to detect the operation before it occurs. The operation has resulted in significant casualties in the ranks of the occupation, as well as the capture of a large number of Israelis. As a result, Israel sought to restore its prestige through retaliation and to erase Gaza in order to restore its prestige.
Moreover, Israel has used a policy of retaliation, making it use internationally banned weapons, such as cluster and phosphorus bombs, and has imposed a total blockade on the Gaza Strip, leading to power, water and fuel cuts, as well as severe shortages of supplies and medical supplies. Civilians in Gaza have thus paid the price for the devastation, all in the face of international silence and the inability of the international community to intervene.
Israel has sought to restore its prestige by erasing an entire population, using excessive military force, and intensifying bombardment, as well as resorting to psychological and media warfare, in order to affect Palestinians and kill the hope within them.
Israel's Purpose of War
Israel has clearly resolved its position vis-.-vis the Gaza Strip, that is, it has pursued one goal: the total elimination of Palestinian resistance in all its forms and, on the other hand, the emptying of the Gaza Strip of its population. Accordingly, the Israeli occupation resorted to the use of military force, represented by intensive aerial bombardment and targeting of infrastructure, whether from schools, hospitals or homes. Therefore, most Gazans were displaced from one area to another, starting from the north, then the center, to the south.
The Israeli occupation has used forced displacement, and this is a clear indication of the intention to displace the people of Gaza from their land, in light of the insistence of the occupation on the crimes of killing and violent shelling against civilians. Through this approach, the occupation tries to exploit the military event and regain control of the Gaza Strip through a series of stages:
- Continuous aerial bombardment
- Total blockade of the Strip
- The de facto division of the territory into three parts: north, central, and south, all of which will weaken the geographical communication between the areas of the Strip and strain the Palestinian resistance.
What is happening in Gaza may extend to the displacement of Palestinians towards Jordan or Egypt, as part of a systematic displacement project that threatens the existence of the entire Palestinian presence.

Gazans suffering under siege and war
The residents of the Gaza Strip live in a tragic hell-like reality, where their daily lives have turned into a bitter struggle for survival. At every moment they face death, bombing, destruction, insecurity and continued aggression.
In the face of all these challenges, and facing the deteriorating situation, the most basic necessities of life are no longer available, there is no such thing as electricity, water is polluted and even rare, there is no fuel, there is an acute shortage of food, and medical resources are not available even if they are expensive.
Despite the people of Gaza upholding their right to life, living in Gaza has become almost impossible because the war has imposed a harsh reality that encircles the Strip from all sides. Fear does not leave the residents of the Strip, and anxiety hangs over their daily lives, and their future is unknown. Thus, not only do the people of Gaza live under heavy bombardment, but there is a suffocating psychological and economic blockade that makes their suffering multifarious and makes daily life a journey of pain and suffering.
How is the situation in Gaza?
In the Gaza Strip, there is no longer a road or building in place. The infrastructure has been destroyed, with more than 90% of the buildings destroyed. As a result, the lives of thousands of families have been transformed from settling in their homes to being severely displaced in the open, after their safe houses were bombed and destroyed. Residents of the Strip found no places other than tents, the only solution.
Tents are an unsafe place, not a shelter that may protect the people of Gaza from shelling or cold, but turned into other suffering for them, amid all the harsh conditions, and the absence of all the basic necessities of life. In the winter, the tragedy escalated: on cold nights, the tents did not protect them from rain or cold snaps. The life of the tents was not only a loss of shelter, it symbolized the insecurity and depth of violence that Palestinians live.
In fact, life in Gaza is no longer like life, but has turned into a daily battle and a great nightmare in which thousands of Palestinian families live in the face of hunger, cold and fear, in the shadow of destruction and siege, no shelter is protected from shelling, not even enough food, and no safe place to go at the end of the day, or even a moment of their day.
With each passing day, the situation becomes harsher, great hopes end in the end of the war, and the dreams of the younger generations are gradually being killed, even the hopes of the adults are dwindling under the bombardment of the occupation. Yet, despite all the suffering, the people of Gaza remain steadfast, despite all the tragedies they suffer, still clinging to life, no matter how long the night of occupation lasts, the dawn must come.
